In early 2015, I travelled to Alqosh, to meet the Assyrian militia „Dwekh Nawsha“ (see full story here) protecting their villages and towns from the Islamic State only 20 kilometres away. For this piece in the magazine „Jüdische Allgemeine“, I took a closer look at the city of Alqosh, which has an and old and remarkable Christian-Jewish heritage to offer.
